Throwaways: Trip to Cuba

This post really hurts. When I went to Cuba, I mainly shot with my Fuji TX-1 and the amazing 45mm lens. This is by far my favorite setup as I really enjoy shooting in a panoramic ratio, and that 45mm lens is amazing. I shot 5 rolls, and then left the film out in a rented apartment (was working as an interpreter in Kentucky at the time), and the hired cleaners did not know what film was apparently, and they threw ALL of the film that I had out away. That was around 5-6 years ago, and it still fucking hurts til this day. I called them, and had them search the garbage dump they threw it in, I fucking called the landfill, the group that manages the apartment complex, I did everything I possibly could to get that film back, but it is gone forever. Months later my 45mm lens just randomly broke too. I think that this experience is why I mainly shoot digital now. I have never been as excited about a getting rolls developed as I was when I shot in Cuba. The colors, the people, the atmosphere, it was the best travel experience I’ve ever had, and one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in my life. I did take my M9, and so I do have something to show for it, but nothing as exciting as what was on those rolls.

I want to go back. I almost need to go back to correct this.

Here are some of the shots I got on the M9 (again, these are the throwaways):
