Alan C. Williams : photographer

As an X-Pro1 user, I follow Fujifilm’s releases pretty closely, and was really excited to hear about their new Classic Chrome film simulation that they released a while ago for their newer cameras. Fujifilm has a pretty good track record for updating their products regularly, and even has a campaign around that philosophy called ‘Kaizen’. So I naturally assumed that this new film simulation would be coming to those who have invested in their product line via the X-Pro1.

Couldn’t find anything on the internet other than this media release from their website, so I decided to just call them and ask them myself. After which, they sent me the following email.

Mr. Williams,

Thank you for your email.

We consider to extend “Classic Chrome” film simulation to other models, but we haven’t decided yet anything.

We don’t have any plan to tell you at this moment.

Kind regards,

So there you have it. Straight from the horse’s mouth. They simply haven’t decided yet. My X-Pro1 gets the most use of any of my cameras, and I would love to have Classic Chrome on my camera, so I hope that they do decide to release it in a future update for us.
